Walton Dining Commons
Located on the second floor of Walton Hall, the Dining Commons is the main student dining facility on campus. The DC features several stations in an open food court atmosphere. Our newest additions include a gourmet Panini bar and a newly expanded salad bar. In a hurry? We also offer a great Simply To Go option with pre-packaged salads, sandwiches, and wraps for those times when you need a meal fast. |

The Dining Commons accepts meal plans and departmental charges as well as all major debit/credit cards, cash, Eagle Dollars, and Flex Dollars.

Allergen/Gluten Information (updated 7/31/12)
Allergies are increasingly common. "Special" dietary needs are now common, and our goal is to provide the best experience possible for all of our customers, regardless of their digestive differences. Menus are posted that include partial ingredient lists, and common allegens. And we do not keep secrets -- if you would like to see the packaging of any of our products, just ask any supervisor.
Nut allergies are extremely common. We do not use peanut oils, anywhere, ever.
Concerning wheat/gluten: Wheat/gluten allergies, and allergies to seasonings (like pepper) are increasingly common. Here are some of our options...
- Simple Servings : Located in the Dessert Room, this line features real food, without additives. This area features a gluten-free meat, gluten-free starch (typically rice or unseasoned potatoes), and gluten-free vegetable.
- Pre-Packed Gluten-Free Closet: Also in the Dessert Room is a closet stocked with gluten-free chips, snacks, pasta, sauces, etc. Any of the pastas and sauces can be cooked to order, just ask any supervisor.
- Cereal: We offer Rice Chex in our normal cereal line, and we keep a number of other gluten-free cereals in our closet.
- Salad Bar: We serve fresh local produce whenever possible.
- We use almost exclusively fresh vegetables, just washed with tap water. Exceptions: We use canned beans, and occasionally canned specialty vegetables (such as baby corn, watercress, and chick peas).
- Our dressings are almost all gluten free. The only exception is our Mandarin salad dressing.
- Deli: We have gluten-free rice bread available upon request. Our deli turkey, chicken breast, and cheeses are all gluten free.
- Grill: Many of our items can be special ordered without bread. Our gluten free items include: Hamburgers, veggie burgers, and grilled chicken.
For the other locations on campus:
- The Jammin Java Coffee Bar: Because of cross-contamination risks we avoid using nut-based ingredients. However, we have two popular specials, the Reeses Pieces Breezer, and the Peanut Butter Mocha Java Blast. We only serve those for about 3 weeks during the course of the semester, and we have special blender pitchers labeled "peanut" for those items.
- The Eagle's Nest & Breezeway Grill: Both of these locations have a special "GF" logo on their menus that mark entrees that can be special ordered as "gluten-free." That means there is no gluten in the meat, but it might have to be served without bread or served on rice bread.
