A Plan For You!

Changes to your food service in response to your input!

New meal plans and new dining hours for Fall 2011!

First, the Dining Commons will be open all day.

That means 7:30 am - 7 pm on weekdays, without closing between breakfast & lunch or between lunch and dinner.

Last year, the Dining Commons was open at 7:30 - 9:00 for breakfast and 9:00-9:30 for continental breakfast. This year, the continental breakfast will extend all the way until 11:00 am, and we will have a light lunch available from 2 pm - 4 pm. In addition, the Dining Commons is now open later (until 7 pm) on Fridays, just like Monday-Thursday.

Second, there are now four meal plans to choose from.

Sophomore, junior, senior and graduate residents may choose any of the four meal plans during housing selection night in the spring semester. First year students will be enrolled in the Unlimited Meal Plan. They may switch to any other plan once they attain the credit level for sophomore status. Meal plan choices are for the semester but changes may be requested up until 20 days BEFORE the first day of classes for each semester through the Housing Office.

The Unlimited Meal Plan

This innovative meal plan allows unlimited access to the

Dining Commons during the week. That means if you have a

hour between classes you can use a meal swipe and get a

drink at the Dining Commons. This meal plan works best for

students who usually eat breakfast, or want to use the Dining

Commons as their personal bottomless kitchen and eat

frequent smaller meals.

This plan includes $50 in Flex Dollars.

Note: The Unlimited Meal Plan is limited to one Breezeway lunch per day,

and one Simply to Go meal from the Dining Commons per period, just like the other plans.

The 15 Meal Plan

The meal plan allows for 15 meal swipes in the Dining Commons or the Breezeway during lunch per week. This meal plan works best for most Eastern students who occasionally eat breakfast.

This plan includes $175 in Flex Dollars.

The 12 Meal Plan

The meal plan allows for 12 meal swipes in the Dining Commons or the Breezeway during lunch per week. This plan is one of the most popular options, and it is works well for students who rarely eat breakfast and skip meals through the week.

This plan includes $250 in Flex Dollars.

The 7 Meal Plan

The meal plan is one of the new options for the Fall 2011. This meal plan allows for just 7 meal swipes in the Dining Commons or Breezeway during lunch per week, but it comes with a large pot of Flex Dollars. This meal plan works best for students who are frequently off campus for internships and students that prefer to incorporate more of the Breezeway, Eagle's Nest, and Jammin Java into their meal plan.

This plan includes $400 in Flex Dollars.

Eagle Dollars

Most students will use their entire flex account during the semester, and we recommend everyone consider increasing their flex balance by purchasing Eagle Dollars.

There are many benefits to adding extra eagle dollars

The funds never expire as long as the student remains with Eastern. They rollover semester to semester and year to year, even if the student studies abroad, takes a semester off, or graduates, as long as you remain affiliated with Eastern University.

With plenty of money loaded onto their E-Card your student will not have to carry cash, since they use their Student ID as a debit card. And you have the piece of mind of knowing what they are spending the money on.

Also, it saves money! Get an extra 5% on deposits from $50-$99, and an extra 10% on deposits over $100.

  • $50 gives $52.50 in Eagle Dollars
  • $100 gives $110 in Eagle Dollars
  • $150 gives $165 in Eagle Dollars
  • $200 gives $220 in Eagle Dollars
